Flexible packaging requires no actual label as the graphics and information are printed directly onto the packaging material. Not only do they showcase high quality graphics, but the packaging also protects the contents from foreign substances with an air-tight (hermetic) seal. We offer various varnishes and laminations to further prevent moisture and oxygen from making your product damaged and unusable.
Printed roll stock is typically a number of layers consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, metalized and clear polyester. The roll stock is fed into a Horizontal or Vertical Form Fill and Seal (FFS) machine which is an automated assembly-line machine that constructs finished packages out of the printed roll stock (while simultaneously filling the packs with your product) then seals the bags. Flexible packets are optimized for convenience and superior barrier protection properties, such as seal quality and tolerance to oxygen, moisture and odor.
Stick packs are a particularly convenient type of flexible packaging. Stick Packs get their name from their long and slender shape and are a type of vertical form, fill and seal (FFS) package.
These packages are often used for single-serving drink mixes as the shape is very convenient for consumers to pour contents into a narrow opening, such as a drink bottle. Since it’s smaller than a sugar pack, another added benefit is the reduced impact on the environment.
Like the name implies, lidding films are used for adhesive, sealed lids. Sanitation and freshness are no problem for lidding film.
Typically these types of packages are used for powders, gels and capsules and the material used is called paper/poly/foil/poly. The paper is the outside layer and gives excellent reproduction of graphics whilst foil is an excellent barrier to moisture and odor and the poly allows the product to seal at various temperatures.
Typically, just one layer of film won’t suffice; a combination may be needed. Different film types are combined with the correct substrate in order to achieve needed properties. A “structure” is simply the sum of certain film layers combined.
This diagram depicts a common structure composition. All layers work together in order to meet the needs of the package.
Labels are like a toolbox full of tools; each has a sole purpose for a specific job. There are an endless amount of uses for labels that cover a wide span of industries. Shelf appearance (Prime) being the most popular, information labels cover everything from warning labels to price tags on a grocery store shelf. Coupons, hang tags, scale labels, produce and packaging labels and then the specialty products which cover a wide array of items.
Labels play a role in our day-to-day lives. Ask yourself this question: How many times have you purchased something because of the advertising on a product? Labels sell!
Our labels look great, but more importantly: they work. Once implemented, tear-resistance or lasting adhesion may mean the difference between success and failure. Does it matter how stunning the design or perfect the production if that produce package label doesn’t survive encountered moisture? We don’t think so.
Labels may require certain features to perform optimally. Know your options and get the most out of your investment.
Premium, customer-seen labels. Used for jars, bottles, or any container requiring a single prominent label. They’re the product’s focal point; they deliver your primary message. Prime labels come in any shape and size. Possible uses are virtually limitless.
Uses heat sensitive paper (similar to thermal fax paper). Direct thermal labels tend to fade over time (typically 6 to 12 months); if exposed to heat, direct sunlight or chemical vapors, the life is shortened. Therefore, direct thermal labels are primarily used for short duration applications, such as shipping labels.
Promotional labels and coupons can range from simple single color printing on bright media to complex 4-color process with multiple layers and special adhesives. Deliver additional information, recipes, cross-promotion coupons directly on your package in the form of coupon labels or instant redeemable coupon labels.
Identification Tags, chemical labels, warning labels and flammability labels are just a few types of industrial labels. Typically these tags and labels are converted on a vinyl material or a non-destructive substrate type. Tamper proof or tear-resistant is also a type of industrial tag and label.
Price look-up (PLU) labels are applied directly to produce for the purpose of speedy checkout and inventory control. Other types of produce labels are clam shell, wrap, and band labels for product description and ingredients. Closure style labels, and stem tags all fall under this line of products.
Nothing can be more significant to a retail business as an asset to promote and control the sales of specific items, than the proper use of Point-of-Purchase shelf and display signage. Customized P-O-P signs that are eye-catching and well prepared make a dramatic statement to retail shoppers that a business is one that is professional, aggressive and ready to serve them.
We do those well – and have been doing so for over thirty-three years.
When our clients purchase custom sign cards or shelf edge tags they will find that, unlike other printing companies, there are NO EXTRA CHARGES for set-up, artwork, printing plates or many of the cutting dies.
In addition we carry an “in-stock” selection of over 750 generic P-O-P items for expedient store usage or for re-distribution. These items separate into several different categories.
POP sign cards can be produced in a variety of substrates, including glossy, non-glossy or fluorescent cardstocks. They can be cut to the sign’s final size, or perforated out of larger sheets to facilitate the use of printing systems for applying store pricing and product descriptions. They can also be die-cut into a wide variety of shapes.
In-stock generic items include a variety of styles and a selection of Hispanic signs.
Shelf-edge tags and talkers on laser printable sheets are available in numerous materials. These include pressure sensitive tags with vinyl, clear vinyl, composite or paper face stocks.
With the wide acceptance of shelf edge label holder strips, non-adhesive cardstock tags are very popular due to their distinct price advantage. We produce those in glossy, non-glossy or fluorescent cardstocks.
In-stock generic tag items include a variety of styles and slogans.
Wide-format printing allows us to produce a variety of posters and banners, from small to giant sizes. Six color ink printing onto 60” paper rolls with 1,200DPI resolution provides for excellent quality and appeal. Also available are digitally printed posters or similar signs on more rigid materials, such as corrugated plastic, styrene, foamboard, Sintra, expanded PVC, aluminum, canvas and others. These can be printed up to 98” wide and 2.75” thick.
In-stock promotional poster items include a variety of seasonal and supermarket specific designs.
Whether your retail product is merchandised on a shelf, in a dump bin, on wire racks, stacked in a display or behind glass doors, we have the hardware to properly hold sign cards and item tags in position at the point of purchase.
